of widows in suffocating walls
and helpless trodden in the streets
in your transcendental authorings.
You are a teacher not
for "Parrot's
Training" but
of education steady
and purposive
for liberating the
minds
from so many bondages.
You have invigorated
our minds with
knowledge & nature
and broadened our hearts
with love and compassion.
You tried to quench
the eternal thirst of
the human mind
as “Who are you?”,
“From where you came?”
or “To whom you belong?”
In the apex of
expression
you have travelled
from crude materiality
to the causal Supreme
through subtler realms
of the human psyche.
The God of your ‘Gitanjali’
is not
confined
to four walls of temple
but lies where the farmers
are tilling and toiling.
The ‘Char Odhyay’ of yours
surpasses
the narrow ‘isms’
of all human
divisions
of nationalism and racism
and
the other likes and types.
Your humanity is superior to state with a vision of ‘self-help’.
You are a preacher of humanism—universal and spiritual.
You are for harmony
between the worlds—inner and outer.
O Gurudev! you are the beacon of letters beyond
age & space.
